Phase 2
As you may have noticed, some of the parts of Phase 2 have begun in the last couple of weeks. Here is the latest update on the timetable for Phase 2 of our Restoration Project:
· The new confessional was completed during the course of this week. This new confessional is larger, enabling people with mobility issues to more easily go to confession, while also being better soundproofed. Please note that regular confessions will now be taking place in this new confessional in the back, St. Joseph side of the church.
· The sound system updates were also completed during the course of this week. This will allow a better distribution of the sound throughout the church, enabling people in all parts of the church to hear all parts of the Mass.
· The sidewalk on North Street should be started sometime in the next few weeks. We are still waiting for a permit from the borough in order to do the paving.
· The new signage and the newly restored handrails should also be completed by the end of the summer. We are just waiting for the supplies to come in for these.
· The committee is finalizing design choices for the new altar. Once that has been set, it will take roughly 6 months to fabricate, another 2 weeks or so to ship, and a week to install. All said, it should arrive well in time for our anniversary celebrations next year.
As always, thank you to everyone who has made all of this possible over the last couple of years, both in our capital campaign as well as the projects leading up to it. Please keep the remainder of the project in your prayers, and please prayerfully consider supporting the campaign!
