Fundraising Updates

There is a lot going on in the Church at the moment, both in our deanery area as well as in the diocese at large. With so much going on, it can perhaps be a bit much to keep track of. Currently, we have a number of areas where fundraising is going on or being looked at. With that in mind, let me briefly review:

  • Parish Restoration Fund: in the past, this was set up in order to build funds in anticipation of the Church Restoration Project. Now that much of that project is completed, we will still maintain this fund but it will serve as a “rainy day” fund.

  • Parish Capital Campaign: this fund is set up for our fundraising efforts that are being used for the current renovations in the church. This includes the new altar, the new confessional, the sound system as well as the work that was done two years ago.

  • Diocesan Annual Campaign (DAC): as was announced two weeks ago, this campaign was formerly known as the Lenten Appeal. This campaign is every year and funds the various diocesan level ministries, such as the vocations office, Catholic Education, etc.

  • Diocesan Feasibility Study: just sent out from the diocese along with the DAC materials was information on a diocesan feasibility study. This study is looking at the feasibility of doing a diocesan-wide capital campaign. This campaign would be directed towards: renovations at the Cathedral, the vocations office, Catholic education, etc.

As most of you know, I have always tried to be as transparent as possible with all of these initiatives. It can be a lot to keep up with at times, so if you have any questions or concerns about these or other projects, either in the parish or at the diocese, please feel free to reach out to me and I can try to answer them to the best of my ability.
