Couples contemplating marriage are asked to contact the priest at the Parish Office (717-637-1191) a year in advance of the planned marriage ceremony.

Marriage Mentor Program

The marriage mentor program offers engaged couples the opportunity to meet with married couples to learn more about the meaning of marriage in the Catholic Church. The engaged couple meets several times with their mentor couple. The initial meeting is an opportunity to get to know their mentors and take the Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding Survey. This instrument consists of 150 questions pertaining to all areas of marriage including finances, sexuality and other relationship issues. After the survey has been scored it is returned to the parish and the couple meets with the priest and the mentor couple, to allow the engaged couple to communicate more effectively by addressing issues they may not have discussed previously. The discussion also allows the mentor couple to share experiences in their own marriage with the engaged couple while the priest gives guidance to the couple.
