Food Pantry

“In teaching us charity the Gospel instructs us in the preferential respect due to the poor and the special situation they have in society: the more fortunate should renounce some of their rights so as to place their goods more generously as the service of others.” Pope Paul VI

Volunteers in the parish help to sort and stock donated items. Donations may be placed in the vestibule of the church. A major food drive takes place prior to Thanksgiving.  A donation of gift cards to Wies, Giant or Food Lion are appreciated and are used for emergency supplies not available in the food pantry.

98% of the donations are distributed to those in need within 10 miles of McSherrystown. Deserving people in all walks of life are benefited by our services. Recipients include the unemployed, working poor families, children the elderly and the disabled.

If you are able to volunteer please contact Mrs. Mindy Day, Food Pantry Coordinator at 717-858-4525.
